THE STORYTELLER: TALES OF LIFE AND MUSIC

COVER: THE STORYTELLER: TALES OF LIFE AND MUSIC BY DAVE GROHL

In March 2020, amid the onset of the global pandemic, Dave Grohl, one of the most internationally respected figures in the music scene, found himself without much to do and considering himself a creatively restless person, decided to start an Instagram page, davestruestories, and began to share short stories about lived experiences, after a few posts, the desire to write a book emerged in Dave.

The Storyteller: Tales of Life and Music, was released on October 5, 2021. On October 14, the book was named the number one bestselling author by the New York Times.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that I would someday be a number-one bestselling author, but it’s those same wildest dreams that I’ve followed since the day I picked up a guitar. Honored.”

DAVE GROHL

Dave Grohl has always proved us passion and excellence by writing, playing and singing his songs and being the deity he is to rock lovers. In these 400 pages that make up his written book and in the 10 hours and thirty-five minutes we listen to the stories he lived and wrote, Dave gives us the opportunity to see with his eyes the fascinating life he has lived since his school days—the first steps to learning to play drums, the experience of being a Nirvana drummer and those almost three decades at the helm of Foo Fighters.

As he says himself, his book is about

A collection of memories of a life lived loud. From my early days growing up in the suburbs of Washington, DC, to hitting the road at the age of 18, and all the music that followed, I can now share these adventures with the world, as seen and heard from behind the microphone. Turn it up!”

Totally involved by the trajectory of the book, since the first publications on instagram, I chose to listen to what Dave wrote, narrated in his own voice, the book is also available as an audio book.

My life flashes before my eyes every single day and in writing this book I’ve tried to capture those moments the best I can”
